Photos from the Disneyland Vacation

Just this weekend, Sarah and I were visiting one of California’s busiest and most overcrowded vacation hotspots, The Disneyland Resort. So, I decided to dust off my camera and photography skills, which haven’t been put to serious use since my trips to Alaska and Mexico, to capture the sights of Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure. You can view more photos in my gallery, which I plan to make use of during next week’s trip to Hawaii.

  1. Nice photos, James! (Not much more to say about that – really!)

Why did you switch from Flickr to Zoomr? A post about that would be cool! 🙂

  2. Ah, Flickr. I’ll try to abbreviate the story as much as possible.

I received a paid Flickr Pro account as a gift from Rick and immediately began to upload some of my photos, images, and screenshots, while becoming an active member in a few Flickr groups. However, I soon noticed that, despite my paid “Pro” status, the content of my account had been removed from public searches and tag categories because it contain “non-photographic material”. So, to make a long story short, I now a happy Zooomr Pro user and will never use Flickr again.

P.S. Thank you for the suggestion! I will begin composing a Flickr rant / Zooomr review ASAP.

  3. What is “non-photographic material”? Pictures of signs? Screenshots of something?

Zooomr looks great, and it arranges your photographs in a more efficient manner than flickr does. I also like that geo-tagging thingy.

My first color photographs were taken at Disneyland, back in, what? 1971? 1975? I can’t remember, but I still have them. I love that place!

  4. According to Flickr, “non-photographic material” includes anything that is not taken with a camera. This includes screenshots, illustrations, and graphics. Though, I could name a hundred Flickr accounts that are full of screenshots and still part of the public searches and tag categories.

I believe that my first photos were taken at Disneyland too, either that or Arizona. I never dated my photos when I was that young, so I’m not 100% sure.

  5. […] My family and I were visiting the island of Hawai’i just last week, and after having a chance to practice my neglected photography skills at Disneyland, I decided to take my camera with me to capture what I saw during my vacation in Hawai’i. Enjoy! The Present-Day Lava Flow Hosted on Zooomr […]
