Catch The Tiger By The Toe

Apple is now offering the Tiger Early Start Kit. That’s right, I’m talking to all you impatient developers and non-developers out there (but don’t expect a beginner-friendly package). The Kit comes with all the benefits of an ADC Select Membership (for one year), pre-release versions of OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and XCode 2.0, access to downloadable updates and documents, one-on-one Tiger support, and a free Tiger Training DVD while supplies last. The best part is, you get all of this for only $500. Sure, that sounds like a lot, but it’s the same price that you would pay if you bought the ADC Select Membership by itself!

Changing Star Wars

Are you wondering why there’s so much talk about changes to the Star Wars Trilogy DVD Set? Have you all ready watched the DVD set, but are worried that you’ve missed some the changes? Then wonder and worry no longer! DVDActive has a complete list of all the changes to both the Ep. IV and Ep. V discs. We’re still patiently awaiting the list for the Ep. VI disc, but I assure you that at least some of the changes were very noticeable.

Update: Changing Star Wars – Part 2 has been posted.

Favored Freeware: Firefox

Firefox has an intuitive interface and blocks viruses, spyware, and popup ads. It delivers Web pages faster than ever. And it’s easy to install and import your favorites. Packed with useful features like tabbed browsing, Live Bookmarks, and an integrated Search bar, Firefox will change the way you experience the Web, for the better.

Pros: Firefox is easily expandable and has a large and fast-growing user base (mostly IE refugees). Firefox is a cross-platform browser for Mac, Windows, and Linux.

Cons: None significant.

The OQO Model 01 Has Come…Almost

OQO is now taking pre-orders for their first model, Model 01. For those of you wondering what an OQO is, click the link at the beginning of this article. In short, it’s in between a notebook computer and a PocketPC. The OQO is a fascinating device designed by the brains behind the original PowerBook G4, and you really have to see it and read its specs to truly appreciate it. The OQO is available with either Windows XP Home or Pro. Sorry, no OSX. I’d love to look into one, but I’ll be too busy setting up my new iMac.

New Header Image

Incase anyone is wondering, the new image inside the header image is MainFrame, by Brock Lee (an excellent fan-artist). The image background was replaced with the “Matrix Code”, which was created with Rick’s Matrix Code Retooled tutorial. Thanks go out to both of these dedicated artists.
