Le Wrath di Khan

I posted this short video a long time ago, but it has since mysteriously disappeared from YouTube, so I see no reason to not post it again. ๐Ÿ™‚

This video requires no introduction, unless you’ve never seen Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan.

My Favorite Game Glitch

I have finally re-entered the world of console gaming, and have been playing quite a few Xbox 360 games lately, though I have to say that I spend most of my game time on Bad Company 2. With that said, I’ve seen my fair share of glitches (bullets magically curving around corners, floating snipers, entering a building only to be teleported to another), but I sure do miss the crazy glitches of the old days.

Goldeneye 007 launched on the Nintendo 64 in 1997, and many will agree that it revolutionized the first person shooter genre, but it also happens to feature my favorite glitch of all time. The glitch featured in the video below could be caused by tiling the cartridge during play, or even a random bit of dust. It’s hard to describe, so just watch and enjoy. ๐Ÿ™‚

Can you imagine if you saw that during an online multiplayer match in a modern FPS? Glitches: they don’t make them like they used to.

Latin Disco Jaws

I noticed this gem yesterday hiding in my old university’s music library. Yep, it’s a Jazz arrangement of themes from the score for Jaws 2, by John Williams, set in a “Latin Disco Feeling.”

Sure, I could probably find some recordings of it, but I think it’s more fun to just imagine the famous Jaws theme performed in a latin disco style.

Katamari Damacy Intro

Not much can be said about the intro to Katamari Damacy, and those who watch it are usually left with a vague expression of confusion. You might be thinking, “I hope the game isn’t like this,” but that’s what makes the intro even weirder. Sure, the game is rather strange itself, but it really has very little (if anything) to do with this intro. Oh well, enjoy! ๐Ÿ™‚

Bonus tip: Now you can experience the joys of Katamari in your own browser thanks to this lovely bookmarklet.

Have Some Lettuce

This has got to be the weirdest advertisement I have ever seen.ย The ad offers a statement on needing a strong realtor and a package of lettuce seeds.

Lettuce seeds?! What does that have to with needing a strong realtor?

Lord of the Transformers

This trailer mashup of Transformers: The Movie and Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is pretty much better than any of the recent Transformers movies. It’s too bad this could never be a real movie.
