Favored Freeware: Perian
Perian is a free, open source QuickTime component that adds native support for many popular video formats. Pros: Perian adds support for most unsupported video formats, like DivX and Flash Video, to QuickTime Player and all other QuickTime-powered applications. Cons: None significant.
