Favored Freeware: Frozen Bubble

Frozen Bubble is a popular cross-platform game based on the original Puzzle Bobble. In this game, the player controls a cannon that shoots colored “frozen bubbles” and must match groups of three or more of the same color in order to clear the playing field before the bubbles reach the bottom.

Pros: Frozen Bubble features over a hundred levels and is a cross-platform game for Mac, Windows, Linux, and FreeBSD.

Cons: None significant.

Favored Freeware: Fauna

Fauna is a highly adaptive open-source draping (theme) for WordPress-powered websites. [It] is engineered for simplicity and uses only pre-existing WordPress features.

Pros: Fauna is customizable via an easy-to-use “Current Theme Options” interface and features built-in support for several WordPress plugins. Fauna’s image templates are available for those who wish to further customize their Fauna-based theme.

Cons: None significant.

Note: Frost is “a cool and refreshing style” for Fauna, inspired by frost, ice, snow, and winter in general.

Review: Kingdom Come

Kingdom Come, a DC Elseworlds masterpiece by Mark Waid and Alex Ross, is the best graphic novel ever produced by a major comic publisher. A philosophical tale of Armageddon in the DC universe, Kingdom Come is filled with biblical parallels which cast our heroes and antiheroes into haunting roles that we are all too familiar with.
