MacManX.com v8.0-beta
Ladies and Gentlemen, I am proud to present to you the near-completion of my first custom theme style, “Frost”! Frost is based off of Joen Asmussen’s Fauna and was inspired by frost, ice, snow, and winter in general. MacManX.com v8 is now 95% complete, hence the “beta” tag. Once I have completed this implementation of Frost, I plan to publicly release the overall color scheme as a custom style for Fauna. So, if you find any bugs in MacManX.com v8.0-beta, or have any suggests or comments to share, please let me know ASAP. Thanks in advance!
Favored Freeware: iSquint
iSquint is an iPod video conversion app for Mac OS X. It’s many times faster than QuickTime Pro, works with almost all popular video formats, and it’s infinitely free-er. It’s also really easy. Just drag in your file, and click Start. You can also choose “TV” or “iPod” size, set your quality, or even go all-out by playing in the Advanced drawer. On a 1GHz G4, iSquint can convert most video files to iPod-screen-sized videos in realtime.
Pros: iSquint is very fast, it supports a variety of media formats, and allows you to choose your preferred balance between video quality and file size via a simple controller.
Cons: None significant.
