Appreciation of Recent Affiliate Purchases

It has recently come to my attention that one or more individuals, other than myself, have made a few purchases through the affiliate links in my sidebar. I would just like to let you, whoever you are, know that it has not gone unnoticed and that I really appreciate the contributions that you have made towards MacManX.com’s hosting bills. Thank you.

World of Warcraft: The Plague

I don’t play Blizzard’s World of Warcraft, but I hear that the players are experiencing a small crisis, and Blizzard is “in a panic to keep things under control”. Apparently, Hakkar (the “god of blood”) likes to infect all of his challengers with a highly fatal plague. However, the players did not count on the possibility that this plague might be both highly fatal and highly contagious. “[Game Masters] have started to quarantine players in an effort to control the spreading, but players keep leaving the quarantine areas. Unless you’re above level 50, you more or less immediately fall over dead from the disease.”

New .Mac Features

MacMerc has announced the launch of a re-vamped .Mac service.

.Mac has come out from the darkness with 1GB of storage (2GB in a Family Pack). All that space would make a handy place to back up your files and Apple has also posted an updated to its Backup utility. Its got one-step iLife backups, Spotlight integration, schedules and ways to share files automatically between all your Macs.

A new “.Mac Groups” feature has also been added to the list of new features.

Now you can extend your .Mac experience to your team, club, class, or family. Create a group, complete with email address, home page, calendar, and more and invite anyone to join.

Finally, .Mac’s $99.95 price stamp is beginning to make sense. To sweeten the deal, there is a new family pack available with one master account and four sub-accounts for only $179.95.
